Ouseburn Open Studios at 36 Lime Street!

24th & 25th November 2018

10-5pm

Check out Theresa Poulton’s work in this years Ouseburn Open Studios.  I will be opening the doors of the studio again this year, but this time sharing my space with ” a hard-edged, abstract, geometric painter making illusory environments of contrasting colour and distorted perspectives. ”

Theresa Poulton “makes polychromatic paintings that sit within the traditions of canvas painting and painting in the expanded field.”

This year I will be showing some work in progress from a commission with the Portico Library & Newsroom, Manchester.  The Library has been digitally cataloguing its archive as a result of HLF funding. I have been researching some of this archive and making work in response to the Newsroom and social & political issues of the Portico’s first century.  Come along and find out more!  I will be in the studio from Sat afternoon and all day Sunday.  Theresa Poulton will be in the studio Saturday morning only. Students from Durham Sixth Form will be in the building Sunday  only raising funds and supporting Artists’ Union England with badge & zine making and mini printed posters – make sure you pick one up and support a growing trade union!

On Paper:
Triumph & tragedy in the library archives.
7th Dec 2018 – 21st Jan 2019 The Portico
