The mightiest liberating thoughts have always been “safeguarded” in books. The adage – “knowledge is power” (Sir Francis Bacon) – encapsulates the reason why “books” have always symbolized “freedom of thought”. To bomb or burn books aims to limit this power to only the chosen “few”.

The prints in this book centre on a psychoanalytical journey of transformation to a conscious state of being free; that is, to be beyond the fear of freedom.

Marie-Therese Wisniowski works full time as a studio artist, author, curator, speaker and tutor. She is the Director of Art Quill Studio at Arcadia Vale in New South Wales, Australia.
