Last night saw the Late Shows kicking off in the Ouseburn Valley, where I spent the evening printing contemporary broadsides from my studio. Using quotes provided by visitors to last years Late Shows @ 36 Lime st, I printed quotes on demand and encouraged visitors to take them away.

The broadsides were generously re-homed by a number of visitors raising over £25 for the Ouseburn Festival 2013.

There were some interesting discussions, with one visitor recognising a quote I was printing as her contribution made at last years Late Show event.   This year I plan to use  participants contributions in Dear Angel at The Globe Gallery in June.  The exhibition forms part of the Festival of the North East, a month long celebration of what makes the North East of England unique. The festival will run throughout the month of June 2013. I am organising an Artist’s Book Fair  14th & 15th June at BALTIC as part of the Festival of the North East, with over 30 exhibiting book stalls taking part.

LateShowsStackedSaturday night, along with Sheree Mack, Sue Spence & contributing artist’s to Dawn Felicia Knox’s Returning to the Philosophers Table I will be in Newcastle’s Literary & Philosophical Society (the Lit & Phil).

For one night only I will be displaying  an installation ‘Cascade’. Originally constructed for Darlington’s Crown Street Gallery, ‘Cascade’  has been reformed using the wooden steps from the Lit & Phil library.  Recycled books are given a new lease of life in this bookish installation.

Visitors to the Lit & Phil Late Show will be given the opportunity to construct a Lit & Phil Chap Map Book and take home a collection of paper ephemera to illustrate their own, unique book.
