‘Voyage’ by Marina Bancroft (Canada) one of the recent contributions to the Sunderland Book Project

The Sunderland Book Project will be exhibiting alongside Site Verify by Dawn Knox at this weeks Durham literature Fringe Festival @Empty Shop’s newest location in the the heart of Durham.

‘Boat Notes and Ship Tips’ one of the recent contributions to The Sunderland Book Project by Steve Dales.

Friday 12th 6-8pm the exhibition preview will launch this exciting new space for Empty Shop.  The exhibition positively encourages viewers to sit down and browse the artist’s books created by 57 world-wide participants  and with 50 books in the collection, you may need to bring your bait! (sandwiches).

The exhibition coincides with Durham’s annual literature festival with talks & book launches taking place for over two  weeks.  If I wasn’t going on the National Demonstration Against the cuts called by the TUC in London on 20th October, I would certainly be taking myself along to the DLI to listen to writer in residence Carin Rodney talk about the DLI’s archives.

The Sunderland Book Project will be open to the public Saturday 13th – Sunday 21st October 10-4pm (Closed Monday & Tuesday).
